Determining the level of radon gas in the classrooms of Diyala governorate schools

In this research, radon gas concentration was measured for a number of schools located in Diyala Governorate, Iraq, using the CR-39 detector, which is from Solid State Nuclear Track Detectors (SSNTDs). classrooms, detector set at distance 160 cm earth’s surface, period time, these detectors were exposed (30 days). Where results showed that ranged lowest value equal to(8.528)Bq/m3 sample (D5) (Alshumue) school to greatest value, (50.395)Bq/m3 (A4) (Alandalusia) school. , where average (25.257)Bq/m3, and lung cancer cases per year 106 person (CPPP) also calculated, (3.873 22.885), with rate (11.470). After comparing obtained global results, it found they are much less than permissible limits, recorded through ICPR (200-300) Bq/m3.
